Better Made From Home

There are so many reasons to make it and not buy it! I'm pushing a MAKE IT MOVEMENT! We have turned to a life of "convenience" all while giving up true health and wellness. Making many things from home is so easy, once you have the simple recipe.

My 3 reasons why things are BETTER MADE FROM HOME:

  1. Because of what IS in it: I can choose the ingredients, make them more nutrient dense, and choose BETTER-FOR-YOU ingredients.

  2. Because of what is NOT in it: I can choose ingredients that are void of inflammatory chemicals, pesticides, toxic metals, etc.

  3. Because it can be more COST effective: You pay a lot for convenience, but making it at home saves you money in the long run.

HOMEMADE TORTILLAS

3 cups organic all-purpose flour
1 1/2 t sea salt
1 t aluminum-free baking powder
5 T softened grass-fed butter
1 T olive oil
1 c hot water
Mix dry ingredients. Add softened butter and olive oil. Slowly add hot water while stiring. Once incorporated, knead by hand. Cover with a warm towel and let sit for 15 mins. Divide into 12 equal parts. Roll out paper thin. Cook on a medium heated skillet, lightly brushed with olive oil. 30-45 seconds on each side until bubbles start appearing. Store in an air-tight container in the refrigerator. Makes as many tortillas as you divide into: 12 larger or 24 smaller.
